The 1970's kicked off a decade of semi truck dominance on TV and in movies! Begining with DUEL in '71 - there soon followed a beavy of semi-madness: '74 kicked off the Movin' On TV series, White Line Fever crashed onto drive-in screens in '75, Smokey and the Bandit pursued movie gold in 1977, and Sam Pekinpaw's CONVOY rolled onto the big screen in '78! It seemed the pop culture world couldn't get enough of semi trucks! Rounding out the decade was a new 'trucking lifestyle' TV series hit the airwaves with BJ and the Bear from 1978-1981!
Ironically, none of the iconic semi trucks ever shared the same screen together - until 2016, that it is! Many of the original rigs fell into disrepair, were re-sold as working trucks, lost, or were destroyed. However, several of the famous TV and movie rigs were restored to their Hollywood glory. In 2016 we organized five of the top movie / TV trucks to finally share the same space - Hollywood Hill at the Southern Classic Truck Show where the Stars Aligned!
